Update (Gabrielle)

I somehow doubt this will be a fun post. There’s been too much life to make writing about it any fun.

First, Kathey moved back to her home. When she came to stay with us it was very well understood by everyone except me that this was a temporary thing. She is now in much better health than she was and we decided that she will not be able to move in with us. There were medical financial issues we weren’t aware of that make her moving in with us not feasible. So she went back to her house and so far seems to be doing fine.

Yesterday Seth and Crystal went down to the house to see if he was done yet. Nope. Now he thinks he will be done on the eleventh. This probably means we will be spending Christmas in our current house and my birthday moving. Yay.

Also, our computer is broken. It might be something simple or our hard drive could be fried. I am writing this post from the Lansberry’s computer. I have no idea when the computer will be back up and running so I fear you will have to reconcile yourselves to less of my glorious presence. Well, Internet presence. Um, my e-presence.

In happier news I have all of my Christmas shopping and making done, done, done. I even have most of the presents wrapped. Elizabeth, if you’re reading this, I stick my tongue out at you.

Farewell for now, folks. Have a better one.

Snow Day!!! (Gabrielle)

Happy December, everyone! And a glorius December it is starting out to be. This morning Seth stayed ome from worked because there is about ten inches of snow outside and Peoria never knows what to do about this. We from Erie call this Friday, but  here they call it a minor emergency. Hooray!

This morning in honor of Snow Day I was going to make pancakes for breakfast. However, we do not have a griddle. So, there I am, wading through knee-length snow to the Lansberry house to borrow a griddle. I chatted with them for a few minutes and when I got back outside my footprints were already starting to fill in. Yay!

I am very excited about this snow. (Can you tell?) The last time I saw this much snow was Thanksgiving two year ago. I love snow. It makes everything pretty. And now it’s pretty outside. Thank you Yahweh for snow!

Happy First of December! (Raquel)

Today is the first of December. The first snow of the year is already several inches deep on the ground, and still coming down. This seems very appropriate to me for the official day in Mutton tradition when the Christmas music is pulled out of storage, and we are allowed to start planning Christmas decorations, whether they get put up right away or not.

In other news, life is starting to calm down for us, though the high levels of crazy still rampant at the Ben-Ezras this week tended to spill over here in small ways. (e.g. Gabrielle and I haven’t taken our morning walk in a couple of weeks. On Wednesday a quick phone call turned into a forty minute conversation between us because we hadn’t seen each other in ’sooo long’.) I consider myself to have had a productive week because the floors are almost clear and everyone got fed (mostly) on time this week.

And now I’m off to celebrate the first of December. While Lansberry tradition allows for Christmas celebrations to begin immediately after Thanksgiving, it is only today that I finally feel free to blare Christmas music across the house. Maybe I’ll even put up Christmas decorations in my room…
