An Historic Occasion (Raquel) November 15th, 2008

Raquel

This is an historic occasion wherein I have actually been tagged with one of those silly “list a certain number of certain kinds of things about yourself that no one ever actually wanted to know”. In this case I have been tagged by Emil to list 15 about myself I’m not ashamed to admit. As you may have guessed from my first sentence, I’ve always secretly wanted to be tagged with one of these. Perhaps because it’s such a good excuse for rambling on about myself…oh wait, that’s what a blog is for… Anyway, I’m actually kind of excited about it, though 15 seems like a lot (and I have to admit the subject is a little odd). Here goes…

1. This is the obvious one everyone’s been starting with, but it’s still true– I am a Christian.
2. I play roleplaying games, also known as storytelling games (and it’s fun!).
3. I own black lipstick, and it amuses me to occasionally use it.
4. I am a female who totally gets behind the idea of Biblical patriarchy and gentlemen being chivalrous.
5. I like weapons and action movies, and the idea of not being tough enough to defend myself in a fight bothers me.
6. I don’t think numbers 4 and 5 are contradictory, but I do get confused about how they fit together in real life sometimes.
7. I am a homeschool right-wing conservative ‘religious’ freak.
8. I am a gamer geek who isn’t actually goth, but I do tend to look goth when I’m wearing clothes I like. (Yeah this overlaps two and three a bit, but it’s not actually the same.)
9. I don’t think numbers 7 and 8 are contradictory, but I do get confused about how they fit together sometimes.
10. I love books and reading. The majority of my possessions are books, and it’s a really good thing our house is well built, or the weight of my books would have collapsed the floor a long time ago. :-)
11. I am a complete sucker for a story with good brother/sister relationship, particularly big brothers and little sisters.
12. I am so accustomed to thinking of myself as a person with big feet that I was actually slightly disappointed to realize that I know at least one female who has even bigger feet than I do. (Side note: I found out last year that my grandfather originally objected to dating my grandmother because her feet were too big.)
13. I like learning to do new things, but tend not to stick with new hobbies for a long time. Too many new and interesting things to learn about I guess.
14. I’m not usually intimidated by the difficulty level of a project that looks interesting, but I don’t always plan and prepare for it like I should, and I don’t follow through on most of the projects I start. (I’ve been better about the last part lately, but mostly by refusing to start so many projects.)
15. It still confuses me that most of the previous fourteen things don’t make people just raise their eyebrows and avoid me.

Traditionally, I am now supposed to tag other people, but I think the people I know who would enjoy this sort of thing have already been tagged. Therefore I will only inflict this tag on Gabrielle. :-) And if you want to do this tag and I’ve overlooked you, consider yourself tagged anyway.

RE: #12 – I wear and 11W. Sorry to disappoint you even further.

  2. Merrianna says:

*gasp* You do? I think I’m an 11W too, but those are so hard to find so right now I just wear 12… Forgot about me, didn’t you, Raquel? :) Or was I the one you meant?

  3. Raquel says:

No, I was thinking about someone else. Sigh. It seems I’m surrounded by people with bigger feet than I have. And who are taller than I am. Pretty soon someone’s going to claim I’m petite. What a ghastly thought…

  4. Well, I’m considering you to have tagged me. So there.
