Another Homecoming (Gabrielle)

Saturday a woman I knew in Erie died. Joyce was old and had had Alzheimer’s. She had been living in a nursing home, but was able to be home when she fell asleep. She’s in Heaven now with her Lord. Her mind is clear and her soul is spotless. She lived a long life here on Earth and now she is home.
Sunday a young couple in our church miscarried their second baby. Baby Glory, as they’d been calling him, went Home without ever setting foot on this hard Earth. His life was so short we never even got to see his face. Yet he is in the exact same place as Joyce.
Maybe they walked in the gates together, an old hand holding a soft, baby hand. Or maybe they met as they stood before their Savior, their faces reflecting the light He shines. Or maybe they haven’t met yet, but that’s no matter; they have an eternity to meet up in. Maybe I’ll be the one to introduce them, those two souls who are Home now.
