Sometimes you have to laugh… (Raquel)
March 27, 2009 by sharppointythings
So, yesterday I was sitting in my bed watching the latest episode of Dollhouse, when I had what was apparently an amazing lapse of judgement, and actually leaned over to pick up my bottle of water. Stabs pain went through my knee as things slid out of place, and I froze. Okay, it was extremely painful, but obviously things couldn’t have really slid out of place, because knees do not dislocate that easily, right? So I gingerly flexed my knee, and felt bones grate back into place. Right.
I don’t know exactly what did happen, but today my not-dislocated knee is painful pretty much every time I move it, and stairs have become my arch enemy.
I was talking to Seth about suffering, and how really, in the grand scheme of things, my little bundle of stress doesn’t seem like it should quite count. But then, he said, maybe that’s all I can handle right now. And now I’m laughing because apparently God decided that yes, I could handle one more thing. Besides everything else in my life, I now have an injured knee. From picking up a bottle of water. While sitting in my bed. Yeah, that’s pretty funny.
you keep using that word… “funny”… I dunno think it means what you think it means.
Wow. Yeah. Maybe you should get a prize, Raquel. Not everyone accomplishes knee injury so safely and summarily.
Like, some people go out and crash motorcycles into things and go bungee jumping off of cliffs and go skiing… You, however, took the safest and least life-threatening route. And I gotta tell ya, as one of your official worriers, I appreciate it.
Knees can be painful. Sorry . . . .
. . . and you were watching “Dollhouse”? It comes on Friday nights, so I guess you were watching it online?
Anyway, now that some of the back story is coming out and viewers are getting hooked, the time seems about right for Fox to cancel the show.
Yes, I was watching it online. Fox has quite the reputation for canceling good shows early, don’t they? I hope they don’t cancel this one…
