A Road Less Travelled

My brother Seth is at the tale end of designing a role playing game called Showdown. It’s a game for two players. You each make a character in any genre the two of you can agree on and then they fight. But in between the duel scenes are flashback scenes. We get to see how these two characters met, what their history together has been and what brought them to the point of a duel. In the dueling part of the game you’re fighting for your character’s life, but in the flashback part you’re fighting for your character’s honor. Who started this fight? Who sinned and brought you both to this point? Maybe it was you.

A couple of Fridays ago Raquel and I played Showdown. We agreed on a Star Wars style space fight, made characters and then told what I think is a pretty kicking story. I liked it so much and I could see it so clearly I decided to write it up. I’ll be posting it in parts over this week. I’ll let you all decide who’s character was who’s.
