Showdown Part 6 (Gabrielle)

Anna was smiling as her ship spun and twisted dizzyingly. She found the sweet spot and got herself righted and in some form of control.
“Y’know Ty, the one difference between us?” With one hand Anna kept her ship steady and with the other set up one beauty of a shot. “I’m good at this.”
She let her shot go. It flew across the space between the two damaged ships and just barely brushed against his cockpit windshield. A small crack appeared in the windshield. The crack quickly grew and began leaking air. Anna watched the telltale gas vent into space. She nodded to herself, satisfied.
“I am good.”
****************
Ty barely got his ship landed before he was out of it and running towards her. He yanked his helmet off just as he reached her and started yelling.
“What were you thinking?” he bellowed at her. “I said starboard! Starboard!”
“No you did not!” Anna yelled back. “You said port and I will not take the fall for this.”
“The fall?” Ty was incredulous. “You can not honestly be blaming me. I gave the order and you just didn’t follow it. If this had been a real fight-”
“If this had been a real fight I would have been giving the orders.” She glared at him in that well remember way.
Ty didn’t want to start this fight. This was still Anna no matter how much he hated her. He wouldn’t stoop for her.
But that didn’t mean he couldn’t still hurt her.
“Anna, the only way you will ever climb the ranks to give me orders is if you screw every officer in this fleet. And hey, I bet you’re off to a fine start.”
Anna cocked her fist and punched him in the face with all her strength. Ty spun around, recovered and with a yell smashed his helmet into her face. She grunted in pain then threw herself at him.
It took five Marines to break them apart. It was the most satisfying fight Ty had ever been in. But it was one fight too many. His record being what it was it wasn’t hard for Anna to make this the final straw. He received his failure notice while he was still in sickbay getting fixed up. Ty was officially no longer a pilot in training. He was out.
