I know exactly how you feel. This weekend bore no resemblance to my plan either, but it was good. Visits between our families are a bit loud and busy and tiring, but it's so worth it just to hang out with my family. I can't tell you how homesick I feel when I have to leave you all again.

So I'd say that despite it all, the weekend was a big success. :)

Funny - I don't really like beer. I'm more of mixed drink kind of girl, myself. But as a business woman, I find myself trying to convince others I can be a girly girl - I'm NOT one of the guys. Not to say that I dumb myself down, but I can giggle and throw on lipstick with the best of them. I'm probably like this because I'm a business woman 50+ hours each week. Maybe you're emphasizing the warrior-woman because you're Aunt Nanny a majority of the time. I guess we both just want people to see ALL sides of our selves.

When I was a student, there were a few times that we got to draw also. I have fond memories of these projects. For me, it always felt cathartic to take a break from my typical homework and complete something in crayon.

If I was writing a compilation of blog posts on giving thanks, I'd definitely do one about my appreciation for crayons.

I love it when talking about writing turns into talking about God. :D Writing is - in my opinion - one of the most amazing and rewarding hobbies around. And at times it's fascinating the think about God, the Author and Finisher (Editor? ;) ) of our faith. To think about how ridiculously hard writing can be sometimes. And how much better (infinitely better, in fact) God is at it.

I mean, when you think about the sheer volume of words it would take to write out His story... Wow. Not to mention the amazing number of characters He has to keep track of - probably billions, past present and future.

And... and... I could ramble on. But I think I'll stop here. It's just amazing, that's all. *happy sigh*
